Half Term

It’s been a busy first half of term!

Our Diss choirs are now up and running and I know our newest members are beginning to get the hang of all the Pop Club Choir terminology (hot-hopefuls, recap and rehearsal videos, warm-ups etc). Hopefully you're now finding your way around the members’ area of the website too. I’m delighted that most of our wonderful Bungay folks have made the switch to the new location. We’ve kept the Bungay Chat up and running and it’s proved a great place for car-sharing-related chat and the like.

Progress on the Pop Club Choir App has temporarily slowed and I’m now ever so slightly playing catch up with new arrangements and other admin. The third and final song of term is ready to go (a classic track if ever there were one, that you’ll all know inside out). I hope to start work on next term’s songs very soon.

As always, I start by looking at the songs you're voting for at popclubchoir.uk/songs and I of course also consider which of the Hot Hopefuls you seemed to enjoy. Finally, I try and make sure that we're covering a range of musical genres and periods.

It might be worth adding that, once I've decided to do a full arrangement of a song, I remove it from the list at popclubchoir.uk/songs. Of course, that doesn't stop someone suggesting it again so do let me know if you find songs on that list that are already in the repertoire.

Santa Tell Me has started well and as I said at rehearsal, having learned the chorus and the first half of the verse, we actually now know around 70 percent of the song! After half term we’ll tackle the second half of the verse as well as recapping what we learned last week.

Later this week I'll be adding scores, lyrics and hopefully some rehearsal tracks to the website for this year's selection of Christmas Carols. I've not quite decided whether to add those in a separate folder (like we already have for the Hot Hopefuls and the Warm Ups) but I'll try and make them easy to find.

I’ll be editing the Rehearsal Video in the next few days so expect to see that on the popclubchoir.uk/player very soon and if time allows, I’ll get an early Recap Video of the first chorus and verse recorded this week too so watch out for that.

Player Page and Favourites

If you’ve had a look around the popclubchoir.uk/player you may have spotted the little ♥ icon next to each video or audio track.

You can click on the ♥ to add the track to your Favourites. Click the ♥ again to remove it from your favourites.

Then at the bottom of the page you can use the Library | Favourites bar to switch between the normal Library view and your Favourites. So, you can quickly and easily build a playlist of songs you’d like to work on.

Please do sign up for our Christmas Socials in the popclubchoir.uk/calendar by marking yourself as ‘coming’, ‘interested’ or ‘not coming’ in the normal way. There you can also find more details of each event by clicking it information about how to pay.

Numbers are limited for all of these so do sign up quickly!
