Saturday Synopsis
New Tuesday Evening Choir in Bungay
Thank you to everyone who came along to the first rehearsal of our new, Bungay choir. A whopping 30 turned up and we learned Oh What A Night in one sitting – I thought probably best not to start with a big, four-pager like Reach. Ipswich, Bury and Croxton will be continuing with Reach of course, but this week at Bungay, we'll be tackling Bring Him Home before rejoining the schedule for the rest of the groups.
Thank to Sharon who looked after the door, and Margaret sorted the teas and coffees.
Thank you also to everyone is the area who has helped, made suggestions and offered words of encouragement during the inevitably tricky journey involved in bringing this new location to life. I could not have done it without you and I'm really excited we're finally all singing together again.
Gigs
Congratulations to all who sang at the Croxton D Day Commemoration. It was such a special event and it was equally special that so many of you came up to support from Bury St Edmunds. Big thank you in particularly to Roy who made the trip from Ipswich. Plenty of video in our Facebook group should you be interested.
It's another double gig week of course as the first of our two Race For Life events is tomorrow (Sunday 9 June). If you've not signed up, head down to the Calendar section for all the information.
There's a new date for your diary: Sunday 21st July at Lord Walsingham Court. (Thanks to Kim for bringing this gig in.) We've been promised a slap up buffet too, so this is one not to miss.
It's shaping up to be a really busy summer of singing, and I haven't even started booking in any Workshops yet. Back to back gigs next weekend (as well as another choir event on the Thursday and a band gig for me on the Friday). We're at Ravenswood Hotel on Saturday and Race For Life Ipswich on Sunday. After that, the ever popular, and terrific, Dragonfest at West Stow on Sunday 23rd.
Songs and Set Lists
It's great to get your song suggestions. Do keep sending them over. I note them all down (even if I don't personally like them) and rank them according to how many requests we get for each one.
I loved singing through Time After Time with you all. I'll be bring that into the set list for our gigs on Saturday 15th June and Sunday 16th June.
As always, if you have any questions or suggestions you can email me at ed@popclubchoir.uk or whatsapp, call or text on 07973 110075.
