Recaps

Thoroughly enjoyed recapping This Is Me and Reach! last week. I hope it was useful.

As well as a couple of new hot hopefuls (lyric sheets for which you'll find in the HOT HOPEFULS folder in the downloads section below) I'll be tackling Oh What A Night on Monday at Bury St Edmunds and Wednesday at Ipswich. Tuesday and Thursday I'll be revisiting Reach!, covering the first part on Tuesday at Bungay and the second part on Thursday at Thetford.

Our Hot Hopefuls for the final week of term are Year 3000 and Use Somebody – unashamedly ever so slightly more contemporary than some of the stuff we've covered recently.

I will definitely be running through the last few songs we've learned, and in particular Giant. So if there are any sections of those you've not quite got to grips with then let me know. Also, don't forget the video recaps lessons are up for Giant now so do give that a watch if you get a moment.

Last Week Of Term. Bring Nibbles!

We're going to relax things for the last week of term. Please bring a few nibbles along and we'll do a bit of chatting, a bit of grazing plus of course some singing!

I know I'm not famous for running rigidly disciplined rehearsals and frankly sometimes I wonder how we ever get anything learned. But by goodness we do. I've just been looking back at how many songs we've learned in the five terms of Pop Club Choir's existence and it seems we're averaging nearly five songs per term. Crazy!

Picnic - Sunday 29th June

I'm really looking forward to our end of term Social at our Thetford location. It was a really nice event last year and hopefully it'll be much the same this year!

All are welcome so do bring your other halves, friends, family and so on.

The hall will be open for the loos, kitchen etc, but we're planning a lovely warm, dry day so the plan is to be out on the lawn as before. We'll be guests of our Thetford Choir at Croxton Village Hall IP24 1LN and tickets are available now at popclubchoir.uk/shop, priced at £5 each.

The event runs from 2pm to 5pm.

Workshops and Gigs

If you've been keeping your eye on our Facebook group at facebook.com/groups/popclubchoir you'll know that I've been canvassing your views with regards to when to run some Workshops across the summer. I'm still very much making plans so do let me know if you have any preferences and I'll try and find alternatives to suit as many of you as possible.

Workshops are a little longer than the usual rehearsal – two to three hours – and options are either Saturday mornings or evenings or both of course. I've got an absolutely banging arrangement to teach you – and of course there'll be the usual range of Downloads available.

And of course, there a lots of performance opportunities across the summer too.

If you've not yet come along to a gig I'd encourage you to do so. There's no need to learn everything and I think you'll be surprised at how much you're able to join in even with songs you've never learned. You're welcome to use your lyrics and don't worry if you're not yet kitted up with a Pop Club Choir top. Just wear whatever you feel comfortable in

As we're fond of saying, there's only one rule here: Have fun!
