I Can See Clearly

I loved singing I Can See Clearly with you all this week. The big news is that there's a new middle section to this song in the Members' Area (Click the 'created' column heading to sort your downloads by date). Notes are the same; I've just straightened out the rhythm.

My conclusion from this week's sessions is that we need to get the notes bedded in first using the new version and then we can tweak the rhythm to get the staggered effect I originally came up with. The old version of the tracks are thus still up on the site.

Website Updates

The new Calendar section is up and running. Here you can check the dates for all the rehearsals, and sign up for for gigs and social events.

Thank you to everyone who has uploaded a photo to the members' area. It's really helpful in my efforts to get everyone's name committed to memory. There are a few limitation on what will successfully upload, so if you're having any trouble using the upload feature, feel free to just email me a picture and I'll crop it and resize it as appropriate. Social Bandaoke

I'm excited to announce details of our end of term social. This term we'll be guests of our Ipswich Choir at Ipswich Sports Club. There'll be food, dancing and the opportunity to sing with The Pop Club Choir All Star Live Band. Solos, duets, groups...

Cost will be around £10 to £12 per person – just working that out – and of course, you're welcome to bring a guest with you.

Gigs

Please do sign up for our first gig of 2024. It's on Tuesday 19th March at 11:30am, in Thetford.

Obviously, I'd love it if you can commit the words to memory, and I'll be mouthing the words to you as we go along, but I don't mind if you'd like to use lyric sheets for this one, particularly if you're happy not to go in the front row.

We'll be singing This Is Me and Proud Mary and also a straight sing through Love Is In The Air (no harmonies, exactly as per rehearsals). Dress code is black top (ideally Pop Club Choir polo shirt) and ideally jeans. Feel free to add a splash of colour with a scarf or similar, if you'd like.

Songs for Week Starting 11th March

We'll be learning the middle section of I Can See Clearly Now (after dipping a toe into the murky water last week), singing through Love Is All Around, Love Is In The Air and Proud Mary and our Ten Minute (re)Teach will be on the second chorus of This Is Me.

Phew! Sounds like a lot to pack into 90 minutes.
