Saturday Synopsis
It may, or it may not be a bright sunshiny day. Don't know what it's like where you are but it definitely does not feel like spring here in Dewson Towers.
It was so nice to be back singing with you all this week. Half term was a blur of arranging, recording, website and admin for me, but I'm excited to hear what you make of all the new songs we have lined up.
I can see clearly now
Lyrics, tracks and sheet music are now uploaded for this week's new song. Aside from the bridge (where I went a bit mad with the arrangement) it should be a fairly easy sing through. For the most part, the tune is with the sopranos and the uppers, with a simple harmony for the basses and the lowers.
Hot Hopeful
Our weekly hot hopeful is the song that we sing through with no learning, no parts, no harmonies (other the ones you might make up as you go along). If you like it, I come right back at you with a full choir arrangement. And this week it's Musicals Week again. Bring you handkerchiefs because it's a bit of an emotional roller-coaster: Bring Him Home, from Les Miserables.
Website Updates
Please do upload a picture of yourself to the website. It really helps me to commit your names to memory. Either use the tool in the Members' Area or just email me a picture and I'll trim it down as appropriate.
There's also a new section with all the rehearsals, gigs and socials listed. I'm currently building the bit that will allow you to sign up for things and no doubt I'll alert you when that goes live.
Gigs
I've settled on gigs, rather than Concerts or Performances and, I have to say, they're coming in thick and fast, such that I'm now becoming a bit worried that I've booked to many in for you all.
Do let me know your thoughts with regards to how often you'd like to perform.
Latest addition is The Suffolk Show where we'll be performing on both days (29th and 30th May). All singers will get free entry to the show too. It's likely to be a late-morning performance but I'll confirm full details soon.
Questionnaires
I'll be dishing out a little questionnaire for you next week so you can let me know what you like about Pop Club Choir and what you feel might benefit from a bit of a rethink. I've gone for good old-fashioned paper and pen method!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks and see you next week!
