A weekly, termtime roundup of Pop Club Choir goings-on and a peek at what’s coming next.

Saturday Synopsis

Gigs, gigs, gigs

The gigging season is well and truly upon on. I'm very excited about our first full-length gig tomorrow (Sunday 12 May). We meet at 13:30 hrs at The Tithe Barn, Lower St, Sproughton, Ipswich IP8 3AA and we'll be singing between 14:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs.

If you have a Pop Club Choir shirt then please wear that. Feel free to accessorise with a spot of colour and then whatever you feel comfortable in. If you've managed to commit the words to memory then great, but if not, feel free to bring your words along.

The set list and all the other details are in the Calendar section of the Members' Area.

Above all, remember Pop Club Choir's rigorously enforced rules which are as follows:

Rule 1: Have fun!

Rule 2: See Rule 1!

Next week we have two gigs (Saturday 18th May). A morning performance at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds, and then The Midnight Walk for St Elizabeth Hospice in the evening. We'll use the same set list as 12th May for the evening performace, but we'll cut that down a bit for the morning gig at The Apex, as we'll only be singing for around 30 minutes for this one. I have a good idea of which songs we won't do at The Apex, but I'll make a final decision after tomorrow's performance and publish the final set list on Monday morning

Suffolk Show

No gigs on week starting 20th May but then we're straight back to it the following week with gigs at The Suffolk Show on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th May. Please, please, please remember to let me know if you're coming to these ones as I need to order the correct number of tickets. I'll obviously order a few spares but I can't afford to be too far out in my estimate of how many we'll need.

You can sign up for all gigs in the Calendar section of the Members' Area. If you're not sure what to do then just get in touch!

And remember, anyone who comes along to sing will get free entry to the show for the whole day.

Rehearsals Week Starting 20th May

I'm away from 21st May for a few days (booked before Pop Club Choir was even a twinkle in my eye – don't worry, I won't be making a habit of it) so they'll be no rehearsal at Ipswich or Croxton that week and there'll be an extra rehearsal at the end of June so you won't miss out. Bury will be unaffected and we'll meet on Monday 20th as normal.

As always, you can see the full list of all the rehearsals in the Calendar section of the Members' Area.

Songs for week starting 13th May

We'll be starting work on Time After Time which I'm expecting will take a couple of weeks. No Hot Hopeful this week as you've probably got enough different songs swimming about in your heads!
