You Can't Stop The Beat

I hope you enjoyed your choir-break. You certainly came back in excellent voice!

I'm looking forward to starting what I hope/think is the easy bit of You Can't Stop The Beat. I will of course be recapping the intro section over the next few weeks too. However, if you do have a moment to spend with the Downloads that'd make my life easier.

I've also added a VERY LOUD version for just the intro section of the song, to save you having to keep re-winding. You'll find that in the Downloads as usual. And of course, I'll be doing a Recap Video after our gig this afternoon at Ipswich Rugby Club. Expect to see that in the Videos area later tonight or Sunday morning.

Change of Venue Bury St Edmunds (this Monday 21st April only)

A quick reminder for anyone who attends Bury St Edmunds. Don't forget we are meeting at New Green Centre, New Green Avenue, Thurston, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk IP31 3TG this Monday. If you came to our Quiz Night you'll of course have spotted that this is the same venue.

There's plenty of parking and Sandra will there with her tea, coffee and biscuits as usual.

Doors open at 7pm as usual and singing starts at 7.30pm. Hope you'll be able to spend the evening of your bank holiday Monday with us in preparation for the short week ahead.

Recap Videos

Over the new few months I'll be continuing to do Recap Videos for some of our back catalogue. The priority is of course to get videos out promptly for the songs as we learn them, so you can consolidate what we've covered in the week, or catch up if you missed the session.

The latest one to hit the Videos section is Reach! I wasn't in the finest of voices when I recorded it so apologies – particularly if you're a soprano – if it sounds a bit croaky.

Bungay Gigs

Bungay is the newest Pop Club Choir location and we meet on a Tuesday evening at Bungay Community Centre. We've only done a couple of full terms so it's very much still building. To that end we've booked in quite a few gigs in the area in hope of razzling up a few more singers.

Please do sign up for any or all of these gigs! I'm really keen that we put on a great show, with plenty of singers. I'd really appreciate your support so we can highlight everything that's good about our lovely choir and attract some more members for our Bungay location.

Quiz Night

Finally a big thank you to Helen for single-handedly organising and running our first Pop Club Choir Quiz Night.

Thanks also to Paul at the New Green Centre, Lin for putting us in touch with him and to all of you wonderful competitors for bowling up. Definitely an event to do again I feel!

And of course, a big, "Well done!" to our winning team, University Challenged – now proud owners of exclusive Quiz Champ 2025 T Shirts. Congratulations to Pete, Karen, Ali, Sharon and Bridget!
