Saturday Synopsis
I can't wait for the start of the new season!
The audio for all the new songs is now uploaded and we'll be starting the term with the 80s classic I Could Be So Good For You. You'll find the audio, lyric sheet and (for those for whom it's useful) the music for your part in the Downloads area.
After we've learned that, we'll probably crack on with our Christmas Song which is The Pogues' Fairytale Of New York. Sharp-eared folks will notice the tweak to the lyrics for that line. Hope it doesn't spoil it for anyone! Really sharp-eared people may also spot the little musical easter egg!
If you head to the Downloads area below, you can click the Last Modified header to see the most recently added songs.
WEBSITE
The Suggest A Song feature is working well. I'm delighted you're finding it useful. If you're suggesting a song please check it's not already in the list before you add it – if you're on a computer, rather than a phone, you can sort by song name, artist or year of release.
And do please do a quick google search and find the year the song was released and add that information.
I'm working on quite a few new features at the moment so do let me know if there's something you'd like to see on the website, or if something doesn't quite work as you expect.
BUNGAY
With slightly mixed feelings, we've changed venue for our Bungay choir location. We now meet at:
Bungay Community Centre
Old Grammar Lane
Bungay
NR35 1PU
I've loved being in the hall at Woodton, but I know some of you have expressed concern about the parking in the dark, winter months to come. I'm very much hoping to be able to do some Workshops in Woodton Village Hall and maybe even some performances.
If you're adversely affected by this change do get in touch and I'll do all I can to make you happy!
Still on the subject of Bungay, our lovely lower-alto and checker-inner-when-you-arrive, Sharon, is raising money for Heart2Heart who are working hard to place life-saving public defibrillators in communities, outside schools, clubs and small organisations across Norfolk, Suffolk and the UK.
To that end, we'll be having one of our famous Cake Sales this Tuesday (11th September) at our Bungay rehearsal (the first one in our new home). Bake a cake, bring a cake, buy a cake and help Sharon raise money for this most worthy cause.
RUN NORWICH
I'm so excited that we're singing at Run Norwich tomorrow. If you've not signed up for this event, there's still time. Go to the Calendar section below and hit Gigs and change your status to Coming.
It's a morning event so we'll be heading for a spot of lunch afterward for anyone who fancies it.
All the details are in the Calendar section but the headlines are as follows:

Precise location: what3words.com/agenda.modes.slate
Race starts at 09.40 am and runners will reach us shortly before 10am.

OTHER GIGS
It's an absolutely action-packed October. Check out the Gigs in the Calendar below.
We have a double-header on Saturday 5th October. In the morning we'll be at Colour Rush in Trinity Park, Ipswich and then the Shine Midnight Walk in Norwich in the evening.
On Saturday 12th October we'll be raising money for St Elizabeth Hospice at our Ipswich location and we'll be performing with a very special guest star. Those of you sang with me in 2023 at Portman Road may be able to guess who this is. It promises to be an amazing night with a big and enthusiastic crowd. Not to be missed!
The following weekend we'll be at Croxton Church – again, many of you sang with me here towards the end of 2023 to a capacity crowd! This event will be no different and the organisers expect it to sell out very, very quickly.
Finally, at the end of the month (Saturday 26th October) we have our Halloween Social, again at our Ipswich location. Spooky songs, fancy-dress, and the opportunity to sing a song with The SERIOUS Hat Band (before I finally retire). Don't worry, the Pop Club Choir All Stars will be back at some point, but for this one, we're pushing out the boat!
Tickets will be on sale shortly.
AND FINALLY...
Even if you're a Pop Club Choir veteran, don't forget to check the Useful Information, "pinned" at the top of this section. I want this to be a "One-Stop-Shop" for everything you need to know about about your Club.
Let me know if there's anything that you're always hunting for that you'd like included in this bit.
As always, you can email me at ed@popclubchoir.uk, or whatsapp, call or text on 07973 110075. Or hit me up on Facebook!
