Saturday Synopsis
Back from my holidays and full of beans! It promises to be a busy summer with gigs, workshops… and Bury St Edmunds Pop Club Choir Fringe Group!

Saturday 27th July Dance Camp East Festival
We’ve been invited to perform at Dance Camp East, Hulver Farm, Bungay, on Saturday 27th July. We’ll be ‘headlining’ the final night. I’ll be running a free “all welcome” workshop earlier in the afternoon too. There’s free entry to the Festival for all performers and it runs all week from today (Saturday 20th July) through to the morning of Sunday 28th July.
If camping is your thing, you can do that – drop me a line and I’ll put you in touch with the organisers – , or you can just rock up for the performance, the workshop or both.
We’ll be performing in the Ballroom Marquee at around 8.30pm and the free workshop will be earlier in the afternoon. I’ll confirm precise timings as soon as I have them.

Sunday 28th July Summer Social
Come and picnic with us at Croxton Village Hall, Thetford IP24 1LN from 2pm to 5pm.
Entry is free of charge and all welcome. There’ll be a raffle with some exciting prizes, a quiz, karaoke and of course, some singing!
It’s worth adding that there’s not a lot of mobile reception at the hall, so please bring cash for raffle tickets.

WORKSHOPS
I’m excited to announce our July Workshops. I’ll be holding four – one at each of our locations – on the following dates:
Monday 29th July 2024 Bury St Edmunds
Tuesday 30th July 2024 Bungay
Wednesday 31st July 2024 Ipswich
Thursday 1st August 2024 Thetford
They’ll all run from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
We’ll be learning (or re-learning) a song from our current repertoire, as well as lots of other sing throughs and some new Hot Hopefuls. We’ll be doing a different song for each of the four workshops so come along to as many as you like. I’ll be publishing the songs very soon.

NEW WHATSAPP GROUPS FOR CHATTING
As you know, we have four WhatsApp groups; one for each location. These allow me to let you know about any urgent stuff and I also send the occasional message. But you won’t get pinged by lots of messages as these are all strictly one-way traffic, from me to you.
Please do make sure you’ve joined these groups. I only send occasional messages but they tend to be important ones. You can join using the links below or just send me message ON WHATSAPP (07973 110075)asking to be added to the RECEIVE ONLY GROUP for any locations you come to.
In response to your requests, I’ve recently set up four new groups where you can chat to each other. Again you can message me on WhatsApp and I’ll add you in, or you can use the links below.
QUESTIONNAIRE

You can either print it out yourself and fill it in or you can grab a blank copy from me at gigs, socials or workshops. I’ll have an envelope to put your completed form in. It’s completely confidential and I really do value your feedback whether it glowing praise or suggestions for what I could do better.
USEFUL INFORMATION
You’ll find a new item called Useful Information at the top of the Messages from Ed section. It should be a “one-stop-shop” for everything you need to know about Pop Club Choir.
Amongst other things, it lists all the ways I communicate with you, including links to our various groups and chats.
If there’s information that you can’t quite find then let me know, and I’ll add it to this section.
AND FINALLY...
Apologies to anyone who has had difficulty logging on to the Members’ Area this week.
The problem is (ironically) as a result of some work I’ve done on the website “under the hood.” I’ve made some fundamental changes to the way it’s organised, programatically speaking, which will hopefully improve its robustness as we grow and more of you log on to the website at the same time. However, it will have required you to quit your browser completely and log in again.
If you’re reading this then you’ve almost certainly already done this.
There’s one final phase to come – again which should be invisible to all of you – and as always, if you’re having any problems logging on then just give me a shout.
