WORKSHOPS

I absolutely loved Workshop Week. Thank you to everyone who came along, particularly those of you who came to more than one!

It was brilliant getting down into the detail of songs, our performance and one or two bits of technique. Despite the hot weather and the three hour duration, you were all amazing!

I'm very conscious that, as our numbers grow, more and more people in our Club will have missed learning more and more songs. I want to make sure there are plenty of opportunities for catching up. The plan is to close each half of the term with a week of Workshops. There's no obligation to come along and as always, if anything about Pop Club Choir is causing you financial hardship then please get touch. I never want money to be the reason people don't come along and sing.

I'll be doing as before and giving people who've bought tickets the opportunity to vote on the song they'd like to cover.

There'll be one more week of Workshops later this summer too. Details to be announced very soon.

TERM DATES

Dates for next term are now in the members area, plus the Workshops of course.

PLEASE NOTE that term will start slightly later than previously advertised, on Monday 9th of September (and not Monday 2nd September).

Just in case you do want to plan ahead, I'll be getting the dates for 2025 up in the Members' Area very soon.

SONGS FOR NEXT TERM

We did eight new Hot Hopefuls in our Workshops. The songs we'll be covering next term will mostly be drawn from these songs.

You'll find YouTube links to all these songs in last weeks Saturday Synopsis (27/7/2024).

I'm loving arranging stuff for us all, and it turns out that one definitely gets better at it the more one does it. I've got a much clearer idea of what notes I can reasonably ask each section to sing and I'm so looking forward to sharing the new arrangements with you all soon.

HOLIDAY

I'm away for a brief spot of camping for a few days from Monday 5th August to Saturday 10th August. Whether I'll have the courage to leave my laptop behind remains to be seen. But if I'm quiet either on Facebook, WhatsApp or in responding to your messages, then forgive me.
