Christmas Gigs

We’ve a plethora of Christmas performances coming up so I hope you’re looking forward to a busy few weeks.

Some gigs have a limit on the number of singers that can come so please do try and keep your status up to date in the Calendar. Equally, if it looks like we may be a bit short of singers for a particular gig it’s handy to know in advance so I can attempt to rally the troops!

Saturday 29th November is going to be particularly busy, with three events in one day! We’ve the Wreath Making in the morning, the Attleborough Christmas Lights Switch On at 2pm and then the Mundford Christmas Lights at 5pm. We’re a little short of singers for the Attleborough event so please do sign up for that if you can make it.the

The new Songs Suggestion feature is out for beta testing and, bugs and fixes notwithstanding, it should be ‘live’ soon.

It’s part of a complete rebuild of the Members’ Area, incorporating all your suggestions for improvements, so expect a smoother experience all round once that’s finished.

Christmas Dinner

We’ve two more weeks’ of rehearsals left this term and then our December Christmas Socials (and of course a heap of gigs). Monday 8th for Bury/Thetford, Tuesday 9th for Bungay and Wednesday 10th for Ipswich.

The Ipswich dinner will incorporate an after-dinner performance in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice. It’ll take place at the Sports Club, our regular rehearsal venue. This is open to all choirs so if you usually sing at Bury, Bungay or Thetford and you’d like to join us, for food and/or singing we’d love to see you there.

You can book your place and select your menu choices at popclubchoir.uk/shop

Never Forget and next term’s songs…

Next week we’ll cover the chorus and the second verse of Never Forget and then in the final week of term we’ll deal with the bridge and the tiny outro section at the end.

I’m hoping to get a recap video done tomorrow (Sunday 23rd November) either before or after the gig at Moreton Hall, so keep your eyes peeled for that. It should be up by the end of the day with a bit of luck.

You won’t be surprised to know that I’m working on our songs for next term and I’ve got some belters lined up for you. I’m already excited!
