Welcome Back

I hope you all enjoyed the start of term and are getting to grips with our new song, Billy Joel’s My Life. Things should be dramatically easier next week as we’ve tackled the main tricky bit.

I’ll have a new warm up and another Hot Hopeful for us to sing through. Do shout if you have any suggestions for Hot Hopefuls!

I’ll be bringing back last week’s warm up, Music Sets Your Whole Life Free, later in the term with an added complication!

I’m really looking forward to the first gig of the term, the Ipswich Half Marathon, this coming Sunday (27th September). If you’ve not already done so, please do sign up in the calendar

Diss and Bungay

I’m excited to welcome all our new members from Diss where we now run an afternoon and evening choir. Welcome to Pop Club Choir and I know the other choir members are looking forward to meeting you.

I’m more than a little delighted to say that most of our Bungay members have decided to give Diss a try too. Lots of you have said how much you’re enjoying singing in a bigger group.

We’re very happy to be at St Mary’s Church Hall in Diss and Rev. Elizabeth has made us feel so welcome. I’m definitely keeping a very close eye on the evening session in particular. Whilst I couldn’t be more excited about the number of you who have joined, it has felt a little cosy so once I’ve got the hang of who comes to which session I’ll make some decisions.

Thanks to everyone who has uploaded a picture to the website. I’m gradually getting all your names and faces connected and having a picture to refer to makes it so much easier.

Christmas Songs and Parties

Getting the new Diss choir up and running has slightly put me on the back foot with regards to other stuff. So, the Christmas song is underway but not yet finished.

Plans for our Christmas Parties however are taking shape. The organising committee are keen to get your views so do check out the pinned Facebook post in our Group and add a comment with your view. You can find it at facebook.com/groups/popclubchoir

WhatsApp Groups

A quick reminder that you should definitely be in the Admin WhatsApp group for your location. Only I can post there and I use it for anything important or urgent.

The Chat group is entirely optional but I do use it to answer any questions you may have and sometimes I do a quick WhatsApp poll there too. If you find it too noisy but don’t want to leave the chat, remember you can always “mute” it. That way, it’ll still be available if you need to look at anything, but you phone won’t be constantly pinging.

Song Suggestions

It’s so nice to see the popclubchoir.uk/songs getting lots of love from you folks. Here you can suggest songs you’d like me to arrange for the choir and vote on songs that others have suggested.

One or two of you have ask if I use your votes to decide what to arrange. The answer is an emphatic yes! Don’t forget though, that as soon as I arrange a song on the list I remove it from the suggestions. So, if you notice something that was polling quite highly had suddenly disappeared you can expect to hear a full arrangement of it very soon.

As always with the website (and anything else for that matter), I welcome your feedback. Let me know if there’s anything that you really like, or anything that you struggle to find. What seems obvious to me may well not be quite so obvious to you!
